They’re back, TLC the infamous 90’s girl group consisting of Tionne Watkins, Rozonda Thomas and the late Lisa Lopes known as T-Boz, Chilli and Left Eye who’s gone but, never forgotten is set to release new music for their fifth and final album this summer. This fan funded project, which started back in 2015 eventually raised more than enough money to curate the album. En route, the duo (T-Boz and Chilli) has come back with that old school 90’s sound we’ve all fallen in love with over the years. It’s not often anymore that artist’s can capture the essence that rhythmic, smooth 90’s music brings.

Supporters of the group far and wide are more than ready to engulf in all of the nostalgic melodies TLC is serving with their new music. It’s great to see our favorite group veterans to the music game unite again to put out one last album for us. With their last record produced in 2002 after the tragic death of the beautiful and talented Left Eye, it’s warming to see and hear T-Boz and Chilli perform again. Good music doesn’t come around as often as it did before so, we appreciate this project.

With the recent release of their first video in over a decade “Way Back”, this single off their album melodically channels 90’s carefree vibes and we love every minute of it! The song, features a rap verse from hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg as it talks about unbroken bonds from way back. Reminiscing about the past and all the great memories that were had they mention in the chorus, “Like Prince and Marvin Gaye/ Like South side on Sunday/ Some things don’t ever change/ Yeah, you and me/ Cause we go way back”. The catchy tune is a perfect fit for the summer and though Left Eye is gone it’s evident that she forever lives in both T-Boz and Chilli, a sisterhood that can’t ever be broken.

Their final album set to debut June 30th is definitely a long time coming but we’re happy and anxious for it’s release. In the meantime check out their video to “Way Back” below.
