Anderson .Paak and Kendrick Lamar Explore An Unmasked World in "TINTS" Music Video

Anderson .Paak and Kendrick Lamar show what an unmasked world actually, looks like in the video “TINTS,” the first single off .Paak’s highly anticipated album Oxnard.

Directed by Colin Tilley, the video opens with a quote from Edgar Allan Poe: “Believe none of what you hear, and only half of what you see.” Exploring the nature of what really, happens behind closed doors this cinematic piece delves into the double lives many people lead. Whether NRA members with a body gagged and tied in your trunk, a patient on the brink of death who in his free time visits strip clubs or mother by day and dominatrix by night, an individual’s truest desires are revealed when the windows are tinted.

The idea of “need[ing] tints” is representative of people shielding the world from their vices, with some darker and more sinister than others. As .Paak states at the end of the video, “I don’t think you ready for that type of honesty,” he hints that a world without tints may be more than what one can bargain for, something society might not yet be ready for.
