London Fashion Week is here and Christopher Kane has completely taken stage. Including a variety of different looks from frills, floral, lace and knits Kane has always utilized his unique esthetic to make stand out ensembles with his designs. His interesting take on this collection in particular definitely is to not go overlooked. The Scottish designer mentions that with this collection he wanted to explore the idea of a “pristine woman, so clean, so proper, yet having an emotional breakdown inside,” and he did. Even with the sultry undertones that embodied this collection there was a subtle hint of “domestic goddess” as he calls it within each look.

A dysfunction of sorts Kane starts us out with ensembles that are prim, proper and very well put together then slowly transitions into very pieced, deconstructed fits toward the end of his show. Forcing us to look at how our clothes are reflections of our inner selves, Kane’s ability to have us dove into the emotional and personal element of fashion makes him more than just an amazing designer but an amazing artist; one who challenges our very thoughts as fashion enthusiasts.
