Virgil Abloh Appointed Louis Vuitton Menswear Designer

The Off-White sensation has been set to pursue a new endeavor, as of March 26th with Virgil Abloh being named the Men's Artistic Director for Louis Vuitton. Kim Jones exited the LVMH house early this year after a seven-year stint succeeding Marc Jacobs who set the tone for the menswear line. Abloh will be the first African American to have the position at Louis Vuitton. Abloh confirmed the acceptance of his new role in a statement.

"It is an honor for me to accept the position of Men's Artistic Director for Louis Vuitton," he continues, "I find the heritage and creative integrity of the House are key inspirations and will look to reference them both while drawing parallels to modern times." Abloh will be showcasing his collection with Louis Vuitton during Paris Men's Fashion Week this June, and with the debate of if Abloh will fill Jones' big shoes, we believe the collection will be one to watch.
