Maison Margiela's John Galliano Goes Fur-Free

BY ASIA RIDDICK

As fashion continues to evolve, it becomes more and more apparent that designers are taking a closer look at ethics, completely erasing fur out the picture. Most recently Maison Margiela's creative director John Galliano has partaken in the fur-free movement. A first for a couture designer.

In an interview with friend and PETA Senior Vice President Dan Matthews, Galliano discusses candidly, "we don’t want a product, we want ethics..." Noting "authenticity. And inventiveness..." to be the root of luxury in fashion today. Accrediting his new mindset to his Vegetarian way of living, Galliano says he's much more balanced since the change.

The future of fashion is here, and it's fur-free. As Galliano puts it, "You can be outrageous and fun without fur! Come and party with us, you’ll see!"
