Tom Ford Returns to NYFW After A Year of Being Gone

BY ASIA RIDDICK

It’s been a year since we’ve seen Tom Ford at NYFW and though he was gone his return was as if he never left. With quite an entrance of exaggerated shoulders, bright colors, tailored silhouettes and side swept hair-dos the designer/ filmmaker without a doubt channeled 90’s glam. While putting his own twist on daywear he was able to create effortless looks that are sure to make any woman feel both beautiful and elegant.

In a statement backstage after the show Ford mentioned that for this collection he “was inspired by daytime clothes people wear not only during the day but in the evening – especially in L.A.”. He continues on to say how “women have stopped wearing day clothes the way they used to”. It’s clear that he is aiming to revamp the idea of practical clothing for the modern woman, making it a statement yet, still very wearable. The way he draws from the simplicity within style while making it his own is incredible and with no plans to leave NYFW Ford assures us this time around he is here to stay. We'll be seeing him "for quite a while" he says in an interview with the NY Times, Fashion & Style segment.

We can't wait to see all that he has in store for the world of fashion for years to come but in the meantime check out some of the vibrant looks from his S/S18 collection below.
